Brief Description

This volume, edited and compiled by Mark Andryczyk, features English-language translations by Andryczyk, Michael M. Naydan and Alla Perminova of essays written by nine leading Ukrainian writers in the first six months of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022. Included in the book are twenty-eight essays by Taras Prokhasko, Yuri Andrukhovych, Olena Huseinova, Oleksandr Boichenko, Olena Stiazhkina, Andriy Bondar, Volodymyr Rafeyenko, Sophia Andrukhovych and Iryna Tsilyk. The roundtable will feature writers as well as scholars and translators of Ukrainian literature. Among the topics discussed will be Ukrainian writers’ role in a time of war, the forums for their writing, and the field of translating Ukrainian literature.
