Brief Description

Both Christians and Churches in the Soviet bloc sought freedom of religion during the Cold War. The panelists in this roundtable will discuss central questions related to how individual Christians and Church institutions navigated the constraints of the Party-State in pursuit of this freedom. Panelists will address these questions drawing from their research on the cases of Czechoslovakia, Poland, East Germany and the Baltic Republics.
