Session Submission Type: Panel
The impact of Habsburg-born elites on disciplines, research practices, and schools of thought is well-established. Approaches to these elites have generally treated their intellectual development, together with their contributions to their respective fields, in isolation. This panel brings together three speakers on the topic of Habsburg experts, with the purpose of articulating new approaches, e.g. history of science, criminology, political science, as well as to propose shared connections among Habsburg elites whose careers were shaped through encounters with life and thought in the United States.
