These four papers focus on important aspects of the progress of the liberation movements in Poland and in Czechoslovakia. While diverse topics ranging from music to philosophy, exile media and liberation movements, these papers illustrate the many ways by which the desire for change, for liberation within these two Soviet Satellite nations occurred prior to the regime changes of 1989.
