Brief Description

In late 2023, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM) embarked on a long-term foundational project to create a database of Holocaust trials in Europe. The first phase of the project, currently underway and projected to be finished by the end of 2025, will create a database of Holocaust trials prosecuted before the courts in Lublin, Poland. The papers in this panel present findings based on sustained collaborative research of this material, and reflect on the promises, potential, and challenges of database approach to the study of postwar justice in Lublin and beyond.
