Session Submission Type: Panel
Storytelling is an essential part of the L2 input and output (Elley, 1989; Bardovi-Harling, 1998; Nunan, 2013). According to ACTFL guidelines, the active usage of storytelling is supposed to begin at Intermediate High where the major time frames are being actively used. Is it possible to introduce it earlier?
The form of storytelling varies: visual and aural, written and spoken; storytelling is being actively integrated in traditional and tech-savvy forms such as podcasts, for example. What are the most effective ways to engage the Gen Z in storytelling?
This panel aims to present successful practices of storytelling done by L2 students/heritage learners and discuss effective ways to promote storytelling in Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced classrooms.
