Session Submission Type: Panel
This panel brings together four innovative studies that explore different dimensions of periodical literature through the lens of digital humanities methodologies and network analysis. Approaching the study of journals through a combination of qualitative and quantitative lenses, this panel sheds new light on the complex interplay between periodicals and cultural, political, and organizational dynamics across different geographical and linguistic contexts. Together, these papers contribute to a more nuanced understanding of the periodical press as a dynamic space for cultural exchange, organizational innovation, and linguistic diversity. They demonstrate the utility of interdisciplinary methods in uncovering new ways in which periodicals have influenced and reflected social change, literary trends, and the globalization of ideas.
