Session Submission Type: Roundtable
This roundtable will address the challenges and best practices of inclusive language in Ukrainian. The speakers will explore the intersection of linguistic anthropology, sociology, lexicography, and pedagogy of the inclusive language. Dafna Rachok will focus on inclusive language towards marginalized and vulnerable populations in Ukraine during war and the changes in the use of inclusive language in legal and public discourses of Ukraine during wartime. Natalia Zaika will analyze lexicographic approaches to gender-inclusive language in dictionaries of the modern Ukrainian language. Natalia Goshylyk will discuss pedagogical practices in Ukrainian language and content classes for inclusive, diverse, accessible, and equitable communities. Hanna Zaremba-Kosovych will discuss the inclusive language and disability.
The roundtable format will facilitate dialogue across the disciplines and allow for an organic discussion.
