The COVID-19 pandemic gave rise to economic dislocation. As businesses struggled to survive, many defaulted on their obligations to pay for utilities. Using a comprihensive database of arbitrazh court decisions (Casebook), we explore the distinct features of litigating such disputes during the pandemic and compare them with behavior before and after the crisis.
