Starting from questioning the translation of the very title of Vertov's most famous film, Man with a Movie Camera, this paper explores Vertov's conceptualization of filmmaking agency. By analyzing the representation of filmmakers in the film and its accompanying poster, designed by the Stenberg brothers, I aim to highlight their transhuman qualities and offer a reinterpretation of the film through this lens.
