This presentation examines the normalization of the war in Ukraine within Russian media, with a particular focus on the representation of peace negotiations in the Telegram channels of pro-Kremlin bloggers and war correspondents. Through critical discourse analysis, I will examine how the "patriotic" discourse has evolved, especially in its coverage of America and Trump during his presidency. Additionally, I will explore how narratives of Russia's "victory" and the "defeat" of the West and Ukraine have been constructed. Special attention will be given to the recent rhetoric that seeks to normalize peace within a discourse that has, for years, framed war as the new norm.
