This presentation examines how one element in post-Soviet university shared governance - boards of trustees and advisory boards - has adapted to recent changes. The analysis will focus on the composition of these boards, which were originally created to integrate Russian universities into the international community. While these governance structures mainly remain in place, their composition has changed dramatically during last decade, reflecting broader shifts in Russian political and economic context. The discussion will explore how universities maintain various advisory boards under new conditions and what this means for both private and public institutions.
