Throughout Paul B. Anderson’s career, from 1917 to 1985, he collected, analyzed, and presented information about religion and culture in Russia. This paper examines his most significant contributions: the booklet “The Religious Situation in Russia” (1923), a pamphlet series Life in Soviet Russia (1932-1943), his book People, Church and State in Modern Russia (1944), and the newsletter Religion in Communist Dominated Areas (1962-1985). Through these publications, Anderson made a significant contribution by providing reliable information on religion in the Soviet Union and speaking out for the protection of religious freedom.
