This paper analyzes festival programs of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM) during the 1920s and 1930s. Poles were especially drawn to musically progressive centers such as Vienna, Berlin and Paris, and their work was present at almost all festivals in the interwar period, culminating in Poland hosting the festival 1939.
