Stefanie Eisenhuth analyzes how East and West German travel guides framed the GDR for Western tourists. By juxtaposing state-sanctioned East German narratives with West German guidebooks, her paper examines competing representations of the GDR and their lasting impact on spatial memory and identity in reunified Germany.
