The paper examines the role of new technologies in the era of total digitalization and discovers how contemporary Russian cinema works within the realm of political power, mirroring the nationalistic ideology of the state. Focusing on two Russian feature films, Fairy (Anna Melikyan, 2020) and Anna’s Feelings (Anna Melikyan, 2023), I will demonstrate the trajectory of this film director towards a state-aligned cinema.
