Abstract

As a writer who endured long-term imprisonment under communist China, Omarǵazy Aıtanuly conveys the confusion experienced by Kazakh communities in the face of communist ideology and the collectivization period, as well as the disorientation caused by the shock of marketization. From these works, we can hear the alternative narratives and memories of the Kazakh community.
