This paper examines the construction of the concept of the West behind the Western network of NET contacts built by the Polish artist Jarosław Kozłowski. The aim will be to reconstruct the relations of production behind the concept of contemporary art and the ways in which the works received by Kozłowski were exhibited in the Akumulatory 2 Gallery in Poznań. An important element of the analysis will also be a comparative approach to the so-called Western contacts within NET and those established in countries other than North America and the Eastern bloc.
