Pierra Nora's conceptual distinction of memory and history (1989: 8-9) poses an opportunity to explore a rather simple premise: Twenty-six years after the NATO intervention, how is Kosovo’s war remembered? This research revisits the discourse surrounding the NATO`s Kosovo intervention between 24 March and 12 June 1999. By employing Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), the paper interrogates how public intellectuals like Henry Kissinger, Jürgen Habermas, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Michael Ignatieff, Noam Chomsky, and Edward Luttwak wrestled with the implications of the intervention in international law, sovereignty, and the future of military interventions.
