Post-war Kosovar films engage with the country’s past, particularly the war of the 1990s and its aftermath, while also reflecting contemporary struggles and aspirations. This paper asks how these films shape public remembrance of war and whether they envision the future through resistance or victimization. By analyzing Kosovo’s post-war films and incorporating interviews with Kosovar filmmakers, this study investigates the role of filmmakers in curating memory—whether by amplifying collective experiences, introducing counter-memories, or crafting new frameworks for understanding Kosovo’s evolving identities.
