My paper focuses on a participatory art project started by feminist activist and poet Daria Serenko in 2016 in Moscow. Called #Tikhii Picket, it aimed at creating a conversation platform and engaging fellow subway travelers in discussions over the contents of placards carried by Serenko and others who joined the movement. Conversations about xenophobia, homophobia, racism and other related problems continued on-line and contributed not only to a dialogue but also, as my paper argues, to creation of collective counter-memory.
