Soil salinization affects more than 47.5% of irrigated land in Central Asia (33% in Kazakhstan, 11.5% in Kyrgyzstan, 16% in Tajikistan, 95.9% in Turkmenistan, and 50% in Uzbekistan). It is one of the threats leading to the decline in crop yield. Our study covered the lowlands of the Syrdarya River and combined the methods of field sampling, laboratory analysis, and remote sensing. We applied statistics to analyze the spatial distribution of soil salt in irrigated farmlands. We also utilized remote sensing data to construct the model of soil salinity.
