The paper discussed origins of the Russian Federation (RF) war on Ukraine and its impact on currents standoffs between post-WWII and Post-Communist liberal and authoritarian regimes, motivated by recent individual country’s political-historic backgrounds and current political rivalry. Path-Dependency (or dependency on previously made institutional choices and circumstances) analysis allows for insights for understanding difference between democratic, semi-authoritarian and authoritarian regimes in Central Europe, Balkans and Central Asia, especially for insights on anticipated near future political developments.
