This paper examines how climate change adaptation has been represented in Russian mainstream media and political discourse since Russia’s ratification of the Paris Agreement in 2019. In addition to referring to actions aimed at adjusting to anticipated climate changes, the term "adaptation" is also used in the context of responding to international climate measures. The paper outlines and analyzes the main characteristics and framings of these two approaches, as well as their relationship to Russia’s climate policies. It also explores how adaptation discourse has evolved since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
