Preserving Diasporic Collections: Rare Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian Periodicals and Newspapers in North American Collections

Brief Description

This roundtable will examine the holdings of Russian, Ukrainian, and Belarusian serials and newspapers at several North American repositories, and focus specifically on rare materials, and preservation efforts. As conducting research in libraries and archives within the Russian Federation has become challenging for many, interest in rare collections in repositories in North America is continuously growing, and periodicals, serials and newspapers are often sought out as important source material by researchers. The roundtable will include discussion of access, preservation efforts, and digital projects, and present information on various holdings of rare and at times unique publications.
