Session Submission Type: Roundtable
This roundtable aims to highlight Maxim Tarnawsky’s exceptional and widely recognized scholarship, publishing activity, translation, and teaching. As a leading figure in Ukrainian studies, Tarnawsky has made significant contributions as a prolific scholar, editor, and translator, disseminating Ukrainian literature in English. His impact on the field is acknowledged in both North America and Ukraine. The discussion will celebrate multiple career milestones—including the anniversaries of his influential works "Between Reason and Irrationality: The Prose of Valerijan Pidmohyl'nyj" and "The All-Encompassing Eye of Ukraine: Ivan Nechui-Levyts'kyi's Realist Prose", as well as his 70th birthday—and will underscore his enduring legacy as a mentor to a new generation of professors and scholars in Ukrainian studies.
