Session Submission Type: Book Discussion Roundtable
This book aimed to create an insightful perspective of the thirty-plus independence period in contemporary Ukrainian history. For many Ukrainians, 1991 was a crucial point when their long-held dream of independence came true.
The book Living the Independence Dream aims to analyze the agency of the contemporary Ukrainian people and the role of media, literature, and digital folklore in creating new messages, meanings, and values formed in the post-communist decades and especially since the beginning of the Russian proxy war against Ukraine in 2014 and its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022.
This book provides a reader with a deep analysis for understanding of the national identity of Ukrainians in today's socio-political context.
