The meeting allows the International and Foreign Language Education (IFLE) office of the U.S. Department of Education to: (a) raise awareness of the mission and vision of the office; (b) promote IFLE programs in order to increase the applicant pool both for Title VI and Fulbright-Hays programs; (c) bring together current and potential IFLE grantees to discuss new endeavors that would lead to the expansion of the pool of language and area studies experts in the Slavic, East European, and Eurasian studies; and (d) to support current grantees with technical assistance in order to ensure the responsible and impactful use of federal funds.
