Session Submission Type: Roundtable
Given the increasing number of academic department and program cuts in Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies, this roundtable is designed to better support and serve colleagues who face them. Our roundtable includes those who have suffered such administrative "streamlining" and others who have helped those fighting for their jobs and students. Speakers will focus on useful resources (both advocates and arguments) available for defending programs; legal and professional support for colleagues threatened with job loss; and the sorts of support that most helped colleagues who were forced to undergo reorganization, early retirement, or termination. These topics do not lend themselves to the traditional paper format.
