Session Submission Type: Roundtable
The organization and outcomes of this year’s elections in Albania and Kosovo will have significant implications for their democratization and EU integration trajectories. This roundtable will discuss and analyze the electoral processes, political dynamics, and governance challenges in both countries. The discussion will focus, in particular, on this year’s election organization and integrity, party competition, institutional reforms, and the prospects for democratic consolidation and EU accession. This roundtable will bring together scholars specializing in Albania’s and Kosovo’s political development, with the goal of fostering discussion and debate that allows for a comparative perspective and cross-country insights on democratization and Europeanization processes in these two countries, and the broader Balkans region.
