Content Note
This film was produced in 2023 and includes scenes set in the Amirovka club in Almaty, featuring its owner as one of the characters. In 2025, serious allegations of sexual violence were made against the owner by an employee. The club has since been closed, and the case is currently under public and legal scrutiny in Kazakhstan.
While these developments are deeply concerning, we have decided to proceed with the screening because the film amplifies the voices and creative contributions of many individuals beyond the accused, and it documents a significant cultural moment.
We acknowledge the gravity of the allegations, stand in solidarity with survivors of sexual violence, and offer this screening as a space for reflection.
