Our second annual showcase of creative research aims to widen the genres of academic discourse on offer at ASEEES, centering collaborative and embodied forms of knowledge. Following last year’s program, which included film, performance, musical theater, and clown, this year features works-in-progress from film, theater, and performance from Eve Lee (U of Pittsburgh), Victoria Juharyan (Johns Hopkins U), and Helen Stuhr-Rommereim (U of St Andrews). Performances will touch on sots-surrealism and a Moscow nonconformist art circle; the Ukrainian philosopher Hryhorii Skovoroda; and a newly-translated David Aizman play about revolutionary activity in 1905. The hour-long variety showcase will be followed by a talk-back with the performers led by Fiona Bell (U of Utah) and Alisa Ballard Lin (Ohio State U).
