An evening of Ukrainian poetry and music with poet Alex Averbuch and composer-vocalist Olga Zaitseva-Herz. Averbuch will read from his new poetry book Furious Harvests (HURI Press, translated by Oksana Maksymchuk and Max Rosochinsky), which weaves voices from past and present wars. Accompanied by Zaitseva-Herz’s haunting melodies, the performance paints a poignant portrait of uprooted lives, registering the stories of those captured, deported, or lost to violence, alongside reflections on people and objects left behind in Ukraine’s occupied territories. Moderated by Oleh Kotsyuba.
