Gender & Implicit Bias in Assigning Faculty Tasks

• In Event: The Role of Gender in Faculty Experiences: Bias, Fit and Hope

Abstract

This study examined if male and female faculty are encouraged or recommended differently towards roles of research, leadership, and working with students (i.e. teaching, advising). To address this question of job-sorting, the Assignment of Research, Service, and Leadership Activity (ARSLA) was designed and administered to engineering faculty and leadership.
