Reconsidering Community College Per FTE Expenditures: Adjusting for Noncredit Enrollment

Abstract

Community college per FTE funding is calculated using IPEDS enrollment and expenditures data; however, these calculations do not account for noncredit enrollment (40% of CC headcount) not reported to IPEDS. Thus, per FTE funding is inflated. This presentation offers findings and implications from a four-state study adjusting per FTE funding.
