Pro-Environmental Attitudes and Behaviors in Higher Education: Investigating the Role of Formal and Informal Factors

Fri, November 10, 2:45 to 4:00pm, Marriott Marquis Houston, Floor: Third, Kingwood A

Abstract

This study examines the extent to which academic and co-curricular factors are associated with students’ engagement with environmentalism. We analyze student survey data using Ordinary Least Squares regression. Findings show that prevalent factors in predicting student environmentalism are both academic and co-curricular: instructors discussing environmentalism and belonging to environmental groups.
