Intersecting Roles of Authority and Marginalization: International Teaching Assistants and Research University Power Dynamics

Abstract

The current study explored how international teaching assistants (ITAs) balance multiple identities in the context of institutional power dynamics. Utilizing an intersectionality framework, this research explored the various experiences of ITAs across a research-intensive university. Findings revealed the need to acknowledge the multiple identities of ITAs as teachers and learners.
