The Elephant in the Room: White Student Racial Identity Exploration in a Pre-College Environment

Abstract

Identity development is a critical process for students entering postsecondary education. For White students, explicit conversations surrounding race in particular are oftentimes few and far between prior to college. Using the Balfour Pre-College Academy, presenters will explore racial identity and privilege discourse involving White students in pre-college contexts.
