“My Name is Not Refugee”: An Examination of Identity and Power in Refugee Education

Abstract

Schooling and education create and preserve individual and national identities. Using the frameworks of identity formation and social reproduction, this paper explores issues of power, equity and representation for refugee youth to support an expanded understanding of how these issues can shape their access to and positioning in higher education.
