Evaluating the Nature and Extent of Hazing in NCAA Division III Athletics

Abstract

Examining hazing across three NCAA Division III institutions with diverse institutional profiles, this research found that across all three institutions, 41.7% of athletes experienced hazing, compared to 20.7% of non-athletes. The percentage of athletes experiencing hazing varied across the three Division III campuses, as did the hazing behaviors they experienced.
