An Intersectional Study of the Identity of College Students with Physical Disabilities

Sat, November 11, 10:30 to 11:45am, Marriott Marquis Houston, Floor: Third, Meyerland B

Abstract

Rampant ableism contributes to the invisibility of college students with physical disabilities. To work toward greater inclusion in student development theory and in their lived educational experiences, we analyzed the stories of college students with physical disabilities to understand how they construct disability identity within intersecting systems of oppression.
