Exploring the General Education Landscape: Building and Examining a National Dataset

Abstract

Through this discussion we introduce participants to the beginnings of a national general education dataset for four-year institutions, share preliminary results, and talk about future directions for research and assessment practice. Early results indicate considerable variability in general education requirements and the amount of choice students have in completing requirements.
