Understanding the Role of Academic Self-Efficacy in Academic Cheating: A National Study of College Students

Abstract

We utilized propensity score matching and a large sample of undergraduate students to examine the relationship between academic self-efficacy and academic cheating. Research findings revealed a stronger academic self-belief that cheating is necessary to keep up does lead to more self-reported academic cheating among college students.
