The Social and Academic Experiences of International Students Enrolled in a State Comprehensive University: an Exploratory Study

Abstract

This qualitative investigation addresses experiences of international students enrolled in a State Comprehensive University (SCU). The characteristics of this SCU (i.e., teaching focus, a large population of nontraditional, minority students) created a less antagonistic environment for international students than what the literature portrays in studies conducted in research universities settings.
