Making Sense of the Provost's Priorities: How Academic Deans Navigate Revenue-Centered Budget Environments

Fri, November 10, 8:00 to 8:45am, Marriott Marquis Houston, Floor: Fourth, Salon FGH

Abstract

This manuscript, which applies the theories of resource dependence and sensemaking, features a case study that explores how academic deans make sense of the provost’s priorities during the annual budget review at a prominent American public research university. The findings advance research on academic deans and revenue-centered budget models.
