Neoliberal Consequence: The circumscription, subversion, and sabotage of student success efforts

Abstract

Neoliberalism has influenced how higher education institutions justify their existence, shape their work, and educate their students. This study revealed how neoliberal ideologies infiltrated and inhibited student success efforts, especially impacting marginalized students. Findings suggest that some student success efforts, although well intentioned, manifest in merely symbolic ways.
