Abstract

This paper details a new conceptual model of student engagement in study abroad. Framed by Astin’s IEO Model, we review literature on student inputs, program environments, and outcomes and how they relate to one another. This new model contributes to program design, participant recruitment, facilitating access, and implementing robust assessments.
