To “Fix” All Wrongs: Historicizing the Foundations of Sense of Belonging in Higher Education

Abstract

In light of the unquestioned acceptance and commodification as a buzzword of the term Sense of Belonging, this study: maps its origins, contexts over time, and operational definitions, where available. This genealogy possesses significance for examining SB’s portrayals and applications and expanding understandings of its use in humanizing higher education.
