Broadcast Standards in a Non-Broadcast Industry

Abstract

Teaching video at the university level now means introducing the standards and approaches of "broadcasting" to students who have rarely if ever seen traditional broadcast content. While a few YouTubers and Instagram stars get rich, and traditional media professionals struggle for work, how do we make the case that the old ways are still best? Professors and media professionals address the increasingly complex media landscape and how media education fits in.
