Abstract
A mesa propõe analisar aspectos da ação política de intelectuais brasileiros no contexto da Guerra Fria, bem como a reação anti-intelectual durante o regime militar, envolvendo a interlocução entre atores brasileiros e estrangeiros. Serão examinados os casos da trajetória de Fernando Henrique Cardoso, de Roberto Schwarz, da Associação Universitária Interamericana e da corrente militar anti-intelectual nas Forças Armadas brasileiras.
The panel proposes to analyze aspects of the political action of Brazilian intellectuals in the context of the Cold War, as well as the anti-intellectual reaction during the military regime, involving the interlocution between Brazilian and foreign actors. The cases of Fernando Henrique Cardoso, Roberto Schwarz, the Inter-American University Association (Associação Universitária Interamericana. – AUI) and the military anti-intellectual current in the Brazilian Armed Forces will be examined.
